40th "Ruby" Anniversary

During the joyous celebration of the great feast of the Nativity of our Lord, 7 January 2007, Archpriest Lawrence Bacik prayed and gave thanks to God for His rich blessings and officially closed our parish's year long 40th Anniversary observance in the presence of a packed church. An abundance of thanks is extended to Mr. Eugene Busch, Chairman, members of the committee and everyone who participated towards the tremendous success of this historic event!

Calendar Of Our Parish's 40th Anniversary Events

Sunday, Jan. 8:          
40^th Anniversary Kickoff Potluck Luncheon, following coffee hour, in the parish hall. Meat supplied by the church. Please bring a beverage, side dish, salad or dessert to pass, and your own table service. An event will be held each month to celebrate our 40^th Anniversary Year.  Questions? Contact Gary Busch.

January 10 – March 4:  House blessings

Sunday, Feb. 5
40^th Anniversary Talent Show / Potluck Luncheon, and celebration of the 20^th wedding anniversary of Fr. Lawrence and Mat. Marie. (They have been recognized as the longest-married couple from their high school class.) Make plans now to read your favorite poem, play an instrument, sing, perform a heritage dance, or show your art. Think we can convince Fr. Lawrence to play his sax or drums?

In conjunction with our parish's 40th Anniversary celebration, St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church was honored to host the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers.  Area clergy and faithful attended this important and traditional Lenten gathering.  Immediately following the service, a reception was held in the adjacent hall.  Archpriest Lawrence Bacik, Host Pastor

Tues. & Wed., June 6 & 7 (this is a new date):
Photographs will be taken by a professional studio, Life Touch, by appointment, 2:30-9 pm, for the church directory/40^th Anniversary Commemorative Book, which is being published for the 40^th Anniversary Gala Banquet in September. Gary Busch will provide details soon on how to schedule your appointment.

Saturday, Sept. 23 (this is a new date):
St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church will observe their 40th Anniversary on Saturday, 23 September 2006 with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at ten o'clock in the morning and a Gala Banquet to be held at the Battle Creek Country Club at two o'clock in the afternoon.  There will be a live band, and a big dance floor (plenty of room for traditional folk dancing). www.battlecreekcountryclub.com

Our annual "Cabbage Roll" Dinner.  The delicious meal will be served from 4:00-7:00PM. Tickets are $7.50/Adult & Children under 10 only $4.00.
